Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about buying, pricing, shipping, and selling a watch to WatchGents.

Buying from WatchGents

Are your watches authentic?

Yes. We focus on authentic vintage and pre-owned watches and aim to present each piece as clearly and honestly as possible. If a watch includes replacement parts, aftermarket components, or known condition issues, we aim to disclose that in the listing. You can also learn more on Our Story page.

How do you evaluate condition?

We evaluate each watch individually and describe condition based on visible wear, dial condition, case condition, functionality, and overall presentation. Because vintage watches vary from piece to piece, no two condition profiles are exactly the same.

Are your watches serviced?

Not every vintage watch is freshly serviced unless explicitly stated. If a watch has been serviced, tested, repaired, or is being sold as a project piece, that should be noted in the product listing. If servicing history is unknown, we recommend assuming routine servicing may be needed in the future, as with many vintage watches.

How do I know if a watch will fit me?

We recommend checking the case diameter, lug-to-lug measurement when available, and strap or bracelet sizing details in the product listing. Vintage watches often wear differently than modern pieces, so dimensions matter. You can browse available pieces on our Collection page.

Are straps and bracelets always original?

Not always. Some vintage watches are sold on replacement straps or with bracelets that may not be original to the watch. When we know a strap or bracelet is aftermarket or not original, we aim to say so in the listing.

Pricing & value

How do you price your watches?

We price each watch against the live market with the goal of offering fair value relative to condition, rarity, originality, and overall desirability. Our approach is built around transparent pricing rather than inflated markups. You can read more about our approach on Our Story page.

Do you match prices?

If you find the same watch listed elsewhere for less, send us the comparable listing and we’ll review it. If it is truly comparable, we may match the price. The easiest way to send it is to Contact Us.

Why do prices vary so much on vintage watches?

Vintage watch pricing can vary significantly based on originality, condition, rarity, dial quality, movement type, case metal, brand desirability, and whether the watch has been serviced or altered. Two watches with the same model name may not deserve the same price.

Shipping & returns

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, WatchGents offers international shipping. Shipping availability, costs, and delivery times can vary depending on destination and carrier.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping times depend on destination and shipping method. Once an order is fulfilled, tracking information should be provided through Shopify’s standard order and shipping notifications.

Do you accept returns?

Your return policy should follow the terms listed on your store. Because vintage watches are unique and condition-sensitive, buyers should review the listing carefully before purchase.

We aim to respond promptly, but response time can vary depending on inquiry volume and the complexity of the watch being reviewed.
