A beautifully aged and characterful Tudor Oyster Air-Tiger, showcasing a highly attractive textured dial with warm patina and classic mid-century design language. Featuring an Oyster case construction and robust manual-wind movement, making it both historically interesting and highly wearable today.
Design & Presence
The watch features a striking checker-textured dial that has developed a rich, even patina over time. Applied Arabic numerals at even hours are paired with faceted baton indices, creating a balanced and legible layout. The dauphine-style hands complement the period-correct aesthetic, while the subtle “Air-Tiger” designation adds to its vintage charm.
The gold-plated case offers elegant proportions typical of the era, sitting comfortably on the wrist. The domed acrylic crystal enhances the vintage profile, while the classic Oyster-style case construction underlines its durability and heritage.
Movement & Reference Details
Inside the watch is a manually wound Tudor movement, signed “TUDOR” and marked with 17 jewels. These movements were known for their reliability and ease of service, forming the backbone of Tudor’s tool-watch philosophy during the mid-20th century.
The caseback is stamped “Original Oyster Case by Rolex Geneva,”. The inner caseback is further signed “Montres Tudor S.A. Geneva Switzerland,”.
